|RBI Staff: Mikaila Etheredge|
Hitting and Catching Instructor
Mikaila is a 24 years old who has recently moved to Regina from Alabama. She moved here to re-open her playing career with the University of Regina Softball Team and to get her master's degree. Mike Smith, recruited Mikaila to come and play at the U of R after spending a year teaching PE/Health and being a head softball coach at a highschool in Alabama. This year with the Cougars she hit .694 on the season and led the league in batting average, on-base percentage, doubles and RBI's. Mikaila received the league's top catching award, top hitting award and was named league MVP. Mikaila also recently discovered that she not only held the leagues highest batting average but the highest batting average in the country as well. She is hoping to continue a strong representation during the next couple of seasons while I finish my master's degree in Sport Psychology and then go play overseas.
Mikaila played four years of college softball in the states, two of which were at an elite NAIA school in Kentucky. Her team made it to the national tournament both years she played. She was a consistent hitters with her highest seasonal batting average being .453 one year and her lowest being .330 another year.
She have been giving lessons in both catching and hitting for several years in the states and is looking to do the same here in Regina.
